Selecting text in Terminal.app

Hi,

I'm a pre-novice when it comes to AppleScript, however, I'm taking a stab anyway. I want to write a script that does something with the currently selected text in Terminal.app. However, I can't seem to find anything about "selection" in the Terminal.app AS dictionary.

Is this just not possible?

If not, then it would also work if I could access the Clipboard from AppleScript, but I wasn't sure which dictionary to use for accessing Clipboard text.

If anyone can steer me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.

Erik

PS: I downloaded the Script Editor 2.0 beta. Do people generally find this to be reliable for simple scripting needs? Thx.
