The first place is Apple's documentation: the "Resource" button of the
AppleScript home page opens a page where you can find a link to ASLG
(AppleScript Language Guide). As far as syntax is concerned, that
should be enough:

And if you have installed the Dev' Tools on Mach-O:
open location
file://localhost/Developer/Documentation/Carbon/pdf/
