I would not think it is.
If you get this error in the Finder, why wouldn't you simply try to
quit and relaunch Finder?
(just in case: when you write
--------------------
tell application "Finder" to activate
--------------------
to relaunch Finder, the case [upper/lower] of "Finder" is important)
