Seting a file's icon from AppleScript.

Can anyone help me with a code snippet to set the icon (128x128 ideally) of a file (application actually) to the contents of a graphical file (can be gif, jpg, tiff, whatever, heck - it can even be a .icns file). The application in question is the kind generated by "script editor" (not a bundled application - no .app suffix - single file) with 'save as compiled application'.
Thanks! - Yossie
