Bill Fancher, a former denizen of this list, had developed code which
provided OSA support for Python and linked it to AppleScript.
Funny enough, I did think of Bill when writing that.
He became
discouraged when no one there or here seemed much interested.
Ahead of his time, perhaps? It can be hard to get these sorts of
ventures rolling; folk maybe don't see the advantages offhand, fail
to give encouragement, etc. Mind, I'd imagine it'd be right up your
street now you're getting into Python yourself? And Paul S. sounds
like he's looking for something a little feistier these days. Maybe
an opportunity to drop the lad a note and see how he's doing?
And there is already some
device made by Bill Bumgarner which gives Python direct access into Cocoa
and can be used in combination with AppleScript Studio.

Not AS-related in itself, but, yeah, I think it could be viewed as a
peer to AS-Studio. One to watch.
