Yep, I am now trying it out (DT). I too barely scratched the surface
of OC, but it was so user friendly, and highly capable of almost
anything, I really hated to leave it behind.
One minor oddity though. Not really DT's fault but now that I am
setting up new docks I see this is still a small nuisance. I notice
that the desktop folder under system 9 shows no folder icon. I have a
spot on my dock for the major folders I still use to track down items
I still need changed. I don't use 9's DT so much as I did when I
first switched but it still needs to be looked at from time to time.
When I drag my applications folder and my user folder to drag thing,
or the system dock, I get a visual folder representing the target of
the drop. When I do this with the system 9 OS desktop folder, I get a
blank space. It still clicks as other folders will so it is still
useful but, it is a little bit annoying to not see it there.
Why and how to change it? I tried get info to copy paste a picture in
it but no dice. Is this a standard ResEdit hack? I haven't tried
ResEdit in X yet. I assume it still works as before? And anyway, this
is about a system 9 component not showing up in Classic under X.
Sooo... hmmm ... (?)

Getting somewhat closer to the OneClick in form is DragThing, which touts
itself as an alternative to the system Dock, but is actually a whole heap
more. I use it to manage all my myriad hot keys, both global and
application-specific, and its multiple docks provide additional tool
palettes for at least a dozen applications, including the Finder. Once it's
set up and optimally configured, there's no limit to the ways that it can
enhance the OS X experience.
Unfortunately, the factory settings are not really suited to this kind of
power-use, and the default layout and colour scheme applied to newly created
docks is so hideous that many people are probably put off before they have a
chance to discover the true power and glory of DragThing. (It even lets you
have tabbed 'pop-up' docks that work like the old pop-up folder windows in
OS 9. How cool is that? I use this feature to 'bookmark' URLs in a way that
makes them accessible from any browser.)
I too use DragThing, although rather minimally: there seems to be a lot more
there than I ever make use of. (The same was true for me with OneClick too.)
If you hadn't quite caught it from Mr. Tea, you can change the look of it in
about 1000 ways if you don't like the default.
