Hi,
I'm new too, and landed here with a sortlike motive. I want to automate a function in Mail too. In short: what would a script look like that sends unsolicited mail back to sender as if my e-mailaddress doesn't exist?

I got used to return unsolicited mail to sender as if my e-mail address doesn't exist, a nice option in Mail.app. But it is cumbersome to do it manually and when I don't do it very regularly, I think, it is not as effective to give spammers the impression that my e-mail address really doesn't exist anymore.

So I was looking for a manner to automate this. Somehow the existing rules in menu/mail/preferences doesn't offer that functionality, the return-to-sender-option does not appear in the drop-down menu of rules, so I thought of scripting... but that is completely new to me... and now I found out in this list, that Mail.app is not rather popular here... Still I want to ask help from more experienced scripters with this.

(He I'm dutch, so my english might be crippled and I use a dutch GUI in the most recent OSX, so I might use the wrong english translation of terms like "return to sender" etc)

tia,
Adosh

Hi, my name is Marcus, i'm new in this list, as well as in AppleScript. I expect to learn a lot from you, experienced guys =-)
My first question is: I need a script to tell "Mail" to check if a message is unread, then open the message, print it in the default printer, and copy the attachment to a desired location on remote machine... Is that too dificult? Or at least start me by teaching how to tell Mail to check if a message is unread, because i coudn't do even this yet =(
Thanks a lot in advance.
