I can confirm the problems also. tried in different systems with
equally bad outcome.
Even brings down the system if you try to force it to work.
My take it's a bug. Waiting for 10.2.7.

(same but without the "continously" clause) and now I get the
spinning
beach ball of death when the cursor is over the microphone icon. It
never times out and I have to reboot (and sometimes trash the speech
prefs too) to get everything working properly again.
Anybody have any ideas why this doesn't work?
