AppleScript Studio and Filemaker

I am new to the Macintosh platform brought back over by a client that I am building a filemaker solution for (last time I used a mac was a classic running system 7).

Is anybody familiar with AppleScript Studio and can I

A.) Create a AS Studio app as a front end and use Filemaker as the backend?
or
B) Can I use AS Studio to create wizards to walk my clients through multiple processes that have been automated by filemaker but still require user input. I would like to add more input options than Filemaker current allows and use drop down menus for easier list selections. I would rather not use a plugin if I can avoid it.

Thank you for your time.

Charles
