Is a particular ichat chat open?

Hi,

I'm pretty much a newbie to both AppleScript and scripting iChat in
particular. If I knew more maybe I could answer this myself, but I couldn't
rule out, from looking at the dictionary, that there was some way to do what
I want to do, because I couldn't get my test scripts to work.

Is there a way that a script can determine whether a chat room with a
particular name exists and is currently open? For instance, there is an AOL
chat room which is normally open, "MacPython". Can a script determine
whether it is?

Thanks in advance for any help--
