I'm trying to access the folder/directory popup button in the
navigational dialog, but I'm having a problem. It appears that the
popup button has an unknown parent. (see output below)
How do I reference the unknown parent in order to access the popup
button?
What is a popup button? I know what a pop-up menu is, but I've never
heard of this type of widget. Is that a Cocoa name for a menu?
Donald got the terminology wrong -- the navigational popup is a pop-up
menu -- but there is such a thing as a pop-up button, too. It looks
like a somewhat squared-off button, and when you click it, you get a
menu. The Action button in the Panther Finder toolbar is one example.
They're documented (along with pop-up menus) in the Aqua HI Guidelines
under "Controls".
