This may be heresey on the AS list but, if you want the settings to be the
same and not vary from document to document, why not use Acrobat's batch
processing to do the job?
In 5.0 it is File->Batch Processing..., where you can set up a new process,
add a security command, set the options, and set the input (eg. All pdfs in
a folder and its subfolders) and output options (eg. Overwrite originals) as
well. Very easy.
See p190 in 5's online help for exactly what you want, and p124 for more
detail about batch processes...
