Any ideas? Thanks a million!
I made this a feature request to
http://bugreport.apple.com> just two days
ago. PLEASE join ADC Online (it's free: <
http://developer.apple.com/>, join
up now) and request it there. The more people ask for it, the likelier it is
to be fulfilled.
In the case if iCal, which is not part of the OS as such like Address Book,
bug fixes and feature requests have a better chance of being fulfilled
sooner rather than later. This one is very important - of course todo notes
(or 'description') should be supported.
Other important gaps in iCal:
2) Although they added four types of alarm classes to the dictionary, _none
of them work_! This is terrible. They don't error either, when making new
ones. They pretend to work, they just don't make the alarm you ask for. And
trying 'get' an alarm errors. They didn't even include "NOT READY YET", as
the Finder has been doing for 3 years. They sent it out as if it works, when
it doesn't. This is pretty shameful, and should be fixed immediately. Please
make this one a Serious Bug Fix.
3) 'mail alarm', such as it is, does not include 'email address' as an
element. This is absurd - what's the point of a mail alarm that has no email
addresses? (The UI does.) That needs to be added to the dictionary when bug
2 is fixed.
4) The r/o 'tint' property of calendar, which is just text - "red", "green"
etc. - is useless and laughable. Calendar needs a proper 'color' - RGB color
- property which is read/write. When creating a new calendar, you need to be
able to specify a color, and when you've got more than the basic few that
should include any custom color such as you can make in the UI. RGB color
can do that easily.
5) event and todo each need a r/o 'calendar' property so you can know to
which calendar it belongs. (Like 'person' in Address Book has a 'group'
element.)
Please request all of these, and anything else you find or think is needed,
at Bugreporter.
