Distiller itself has the capabilities built in. Not that a script is a bad
idea, but it does seem to be an re-invention.
Distiller settings allow you to create a drop folder and settings for the
folder. All items dropped into the folder, or printed directly to the
folder as PS output, will be processed into PDF with whatever settings you
have attached to the drop folder.
I have never experienced any errors with that method, and I have several
drop folders with different settings -- for 'net posted stuff, for filing
internally, and so forth.
