I incorrectly threw in GUI Scripting, there. To make GUI Scripting
work, you
just have to know that you need to turn on support for assistive
devices.
Another reason to read the documentation.
And there seems to be no convenient way to use AppleScript itself to
detect
whether assistive device support is on or off -- in Jaguar....
