At 01:06p -0600 10/05/2003, Robert Poland didst inscribe upon an
electronic papyrus:
@ Robert
!B == *leq* == "less or equal to" == type alt -<
Excuse my density, but wouldn't "type option + ," make more sense
than "type alt -<"? Or maybe "type option + <" ignoring shift?
"type alt -<" on my machine just gives a long dash character.
Pet peeve:
Macintosh computers do not have an "alt" key. It always has been, and
always will be, the OPTION key. It is not an "alt" key (although some
MS-Windows emulation software may map it for use as such). It is not
a "solid-apple" key (although Apple ][ users may fondly remember its
A2 counterpart as such).
And before anyone says "But it has the word "alt" on it," allow me to
point out the tiny size of the word, and the full size of the word
"option"; does that not indicate to you the proper name of the key?
And that key next to it? It's the COMMAND key. It's not an "apple"
key, because third-party keyboards don't have one; only Apple
keyboards have one (trademark, don'tcha know). I am typing this on my
MicroSpeed ADB keyboard, and there is no apple symbol anywhere upon
it; the command key has "Command" and the cloverleaf symbol on it.
