This was discussed on the list about 18 or 19 months ago. If your script refers to any program with a GUI, including the Finder, you will get error messages if you try to schedule a script with cron. You can turn your script into an application with all the attendant overhead, or you can try a scheduling application I publish called Script Timer. Just go to the URL in my sig and click on the Shareware and Freeware button to get a copy. Script Timer's scheduling engine runs in the user domain where cron is owned by root. There's also a FAQ page on the web site comparing Script Timer and cron.
