There's probably a connection...

And Apple's probably tired of Microsoft dictating, whether it be via a default Web browser, via a presentation program, via keyboards becoming too PC-like, or via OS hacks (remember Apple had to change System 6 just so MS products would run, because MS wouldn't update their apps). Maybe someday Apple will remove the "alt" legend too. One can only hope.
