Converting Script to Event code

l'm trying to write a script that gets the application names from the
process table (OS 9)

So l don't need to say:

tell application "MyApp"

all l need to do is:

tell APPName

But l need to change the applications script to event codes before the
syntax will check OK.. l did this in smile a long time ago.. and l've forgot
what l did...

Any ideas?
