How do I get the IP address of an interface via applescript?

Hello:

I was trying to write a script that only tries to mount a network share iff the network interface is on a particular subnet, but I've been unable to get my script to find out what the IP address of an interface is. The closest I've come is finding some discussion on scripting the Apple System Profiler, but it didn't work as advertised.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.2.8 (applescript 1.9, i believe). Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.
