Hi Group,

I made this Simple AS to stuff files that I chose automagically. I'd like to be
able to stuff multiple
files at a time. My problem was figuring out how to give DropStuff a multiple
file alias -- if that
exists. Basically I just want to put multiple files in the same stuffit
directory. It can't be that
hard, would anyone share with me what I'm missing?

Well, under Mac OS we were able to use Leonard Rosenthol's "StuffIt Commands" osax to call the StuffIt engine, bypassing those apps and allowing us to specify an archive name for the stuffed items. Unfortunately he has not ported it to Mac OS X. I've been meaning to write to him about that...

StuffIt Deluxe for OS X now includes command line tools (stuff and unstuff) which are much less intrusive than their UI counterparts and I prefer to use them in AppleScript scripts. I wish they would make the CL utilities available as a freestanding package since they meet 99.9% of my needs (unscientific guess).

They offer StuffIt for Solaris/Linux but I don't know enough about the *nix variants to tell whether or not it will work with OS X. The specs don't mention OS X so I suspect not. <shrug>
