Many apologies. :-) I was still running version 7.0.1 in X. The
application file of this had its 'has scripting terminology' set to
'false' and was thus ignored by the script I use for opening application
dictionaries. However, it turned out it could be opened in Script Editor
to reveal a Standard Suite and a couple of other commands, neither of
which was 'stuff'. I've now switched to the 7.0.3 version I use in 9,
which is indeed scriptable, as you describe - 'stuff' being the sole
command in its dictionary - and has a correctly set 'has scripting
terminology'. :-)
