BOSTON APPLESCRIPT USER GROUP "BAUG" MEETING

The Boston AppleScript User Group will hold their regularly scheduled
monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 28. Our meeting location is MIT
building E51, Room 372. Free parking nearby.

Bob Anderson of Compaq Computer reprises his recent Seybold Seminars
presentation on the use of Javascript in Acrobat Reader to create cover
artwork for manuals. Yes, they use Macintosh computers at Compaq. This
will be the BAUGs first venture into another Mac scripting language.

Javascript enables Acrobat forms to be more than static representations
of paper. It allows Acrobat forms to perform data checking and respond
visually to user input. Embedded javascripts validate user entered data
values against production limits and displays a wysiwyg view of the
cover. Finished designs are then easliy post-processed into final
artwork with the full version of Acrobat.

Please note that the "flavor" of javascript used in Acrobat is different
from that used by web browsers. This meeting will not be about javascript
as it is commonly thought of as a scripting language for the internet.
The core features are, however, identical.

Please visit the BAUG website for additional meeting details, free
parking location, and map. http://homepage.mac.com/baug
