Nobody seemed to notice my oblique reference to that yesterday. (I wasn't
100% sure it was safe to quote it yet:.

They seem to have really made made AppleScript, and the Standard Additions
in particular, a more modern language appropriate for OS X, removing the OS
7 vestiges still hanging around. Note the 'default location' of 'choose
folder' and 'choose file', for example. And the date properties. And
everything takes Unicode. And a whole boatload of bugs were fixed.
