I don't have Xpress 6 (or 5)... What happens if you include a "using
terms from..." statement in your code?
using terms from application "Finder"
using terms from application "System Events"
using terms from application "Quark Xpress 6" (or whatever the formal
name of the app is on your system).
That would help you track down what's happening.
