Wow. Yeah, OK... I'm impressed! :)
The bug fixes are extensive and very welcome of course, but it's
the new features that are just...
After 8 years of AppleScripting, it's about time, thank you Apple.
Some of my favorites:
- offset command now ignores case by default and honors considering and
ignoring
- Idle handler return value can now be a real number
- delay command now accepts real numbers
Does this mean it accepts idle-periods of less than a second, or does
it
simply coerce/round a real to integer?
- month constants can now be coerced to numbers
- choose file, etc... commands now have a default location
- choose file, etc... multiple selections allowed
- display dialog ... more than 255 characters
Great! If you would now allow for the specification of a monospaced,
serif
font, I'll be very happy!
- path to command now has a folder creation parameter
- Getting the characters of a very long string no longer causes a
stack overflow
I'll believe this one when I see it! :)
- contains and ends with... work... more than 32,767 characters.
The date fixes are also wonderful. Fantastic stuff, Apple. I'm putting
you back on my Christmas Card list. :)
