Interesting idea, but it also fails :(.
Basically, I want a way to open up a .term file via applescript in OS
X 10.3.
I have not found any way to do that at this point. It might work to try to
run a shell script with an "open -a Terminal.app path.to.file" but that
does not work for me, as I want to be able to touch the open window with
applescript.
I think I am mostly complaining that it is broken, but I would be very
glad to have suggestions on other possible work arounds.

For me, you did not really say what you want to do, but if I follow you last sentence, I can advise to try having Finder have Terminal open the file, tell app "Finder" to open alias thePathToFile using alias thePathToApp (or whatever variante works).
