Michelle,
Craig is correct: People implementing this built-in feature of .mac
accounts can automatically have their pics sent along with their
emails. Then, anyone using Mail.app (I have no idea about other mail
software) are automatically shown this image.
However, in order for other people to see your image (if you aren't so
lucky to be able to shell out $100 per year for your email address),
then each of your friends must have your image already loaded into
their /Images/People folder, correctly named as "email@hidden"
where the email address matches exactly the sender's address. I've
tested this with Craig on a side note, and it works correctly.
You can test this by making a 64x64 pixel image of anything, saving it
with the correct naming structure for my email address, quitting and
restarting Mail.app (you may need to log out, but I think merely
restarting the app does the trick), and then all the emails that I have
sent (past and future) should show the pic that you assigned to my
email.
Hope this helps!

Michelle-
I wonder if it is a .mac account, if then the pic is included in the
header as a part of the message..??

OK, figure this one out: I don't have a People folder in my images
folder, and I do not have your photo anywhere that I can find in my
system. Your message does not have an X-Image-Url header. Yet, I
see your picture in the mail from you.
I assume that at one time you had such a header and that my system
has cached the image somewhere, but where?
