I've never seen the need to have "picture boxes", especially in some apps where you have to make a box first, then place a graphic in it. And since I've been with MultiAd starting in 1995, I'm very used to using a page layout app that doesn't do it that way.

I don't have ID, but maybe they do it that way for consistency and generality, such as [[object=text]] + [[object=picture]] + [[object=future-use]]. Like maybe they did it for forward compatibility, so that your ID 1.x scripts will still work in ID 9.x. If so, I would think it's a worthwhile tradeoff.
