Don't know for sure, nor know what else you have running on your
'puter but I have found the same thing while using other apps and
suspect it is something about how the FA system interacts with rest
of the OS, running the Enable script again has always started it up
again. Try an application script that stays open and runs the Enable
Folder Actions script every 2 hours or as necessary.
This makes me wonder if System Events is crashing, possibly due to a
problematic folder action, and then being restarted by the enable
script. I've noticed that System Events will sometimes crash silently,
effectively putting folder actions out of commission.
FWIW, I also noticed when upgrading to Jaguar from 10.1 a periodic
hesitation/twitch appeared in ScreenSavers and iTunes Visuals, openGL
related maybe. I tried all sorts of things until I turned off
FolderActions and this stops the hesitation. Now I have a script that
toggles FolderActions when using these apps. Have also noticed some
software installations seem to turn off FA.
