not knowing what you really had on hand, i suggested those simple
tricks.

now, given your need i believe that you have to use other programs
suggested by others earlier in this thread.

or you can create a simple applescript studio status panel (that
famed horizontal bar, or the spinning wheel or the barber column)
andi integrate it with your script.

you can also download T. J. Mahaffey's ProgBar program which gives
you such progress bar that updates according to your counter. he has
given several routines that you can call from your script to display
the progress bar.  check it www.sporksoftware.com.

if you need further help on how to do this, let me know. i have
actually integrated his ProgBar in my iTunes Alarm Clock script and
has fairly mastered the trick. and i have also now created my own
version of the progress bar that i will use in the next version of my
script.
