I am working on an application that I would like to dial my cell phone number, so I know that something has gone wrong at the server.

I think I could applescript Internet Connect to dial my number, but I was wondering if there is "do shell script" command to dial my number.

A poor solution, but since you say you have OS9 launched, couldn't you tell Remote Access to "connect" ? You would have configured it by entering your remote phone's number in the field for the ISP's phone number.
