This is the problem with Spam:
There are so many filters, that sometimes you can't send legitimate email.
Andrew sent me an email, and I can't get him to read my reply.
It returns me:

I tried using 3 different servers, no success....

Andrew, here is my reply to your email:
(please forgive me for posting it here. But I can't send you the email to your real address)

Begins:
Andrew,
What I am trying to say, is that Spam can be a very serious problem.
In my case I had my Internet service being consumed by Spammers.
My opinion is that someone's address should be protected the most you can. Leaving it on page, is just "too easy" for spammers.
Of course, that there are other ways of capturing email addresses, but Spammers don't usually do it "manually", address by address. Spammers use simple programs that are written by someone who later passes copies of the program to others.
The spammers I have met are people who in fact have no great knowledge of protocols or programming languages. They just copy someoneelse's program and use it. Mostly teenagers, or other kinds of imbecils...
I agree that Spam is a big problem.
I agree that Spammers "could" grab my email address manually by simply subscribing to this list.
I agree that Spammers will most probably not do this manually.
Here in my country, you can buy a magazine with a Cd, with an article explaining you step by step of how to use program (included in the Cd ) to "catalogue emails on the web" or " do email marketing" or "make sure your emails are not lost" (capture by spamkiller). (Yes! They use such terms to make Spam look like something innocent)
In Brazil there is no law (till this moment) to define "spam" as a crime.
In the page we were discussing, I believe it would take someone more experienced to "capture" the email address. But what if many other web sites copy the same pattern? Then we have thousands of web sites with the same pattern, and What if someone writes a program to capture them and just places it on a Cd in a teenager magazine?
Can you imagine the consequences?
This is why I think we should fight any misplacement of our email addresses.
Are we still friends?
Greetings from Brazil!
Bernardo

I don't agree....
OK. I'm confused. Why don't you agree with my statement?
The original discussion hinged around the fact that anyone browsing the
mail-archive.com web site could get your email address.
I stated that there are many other, easier ways for spammers to get email
addresses without crawling web sites.
Your email supports my theory. In this case a chat room was the mechanism.
You proved my point.

What anti-spam methods did you have in place prior to that?
