Insertion Point in Quark

  • Subject: Insertion Point in Quark

Hi,

can anyone assist with selections and insertion points in Quark?

If I have a selection like:

text from character 105 to character 113 of story 1 of text box 41 of
document "myDoc" of application "QuarkXPress Passport"

I can easily get the "position" (i.e. 105/113) of the selection with:

get (offset of first character of selection) + 1
get (offset of last character of selection) + 1

If the selection is an insertion point, this does not work anymore:

insertion point after character 104 of text flow 1 of text box 41 of
document "myDoc" of application "QuarkXPress Passport"

How can I get the position of an insertion point? What other properties does
an "insertion point" in Quark have that I might use?

Thanks in advance,
Frank Renner
