Title: Re: FileMaker 7 ... "current record"
Just thought I’d add that if I use:

 ‘record 0’

I DO receive the object not found error. However, current record does work for me.

When I try this it works OK...Hmm...

How do you open the database? With a password that has Admin rights? If not...does admin rights work OK?

I tried a few different ways, adding the .fp7 extension, telling current record of window “References”, etc. And I could not get it to NOT work...interesting.

I have FM6Pro, FM6Dev, FM7Pro, and FM7Dev all loaded on the same machine. (OS X 10.3.6) just FYI

Also...are you POSITIVE that there is a current record showing? What if you add the line:

show every record

above the current record line? Does that work?  (I’ve done this before where I’ve left the database in a state such that a find returned zero results, thus no current records)

This is interesting as I have not had a problem with any of the above 4 versions of FM and the current record, whether using AS alone or AS Studio.

Hrmmmmm...

Cheers,
Jake

I am finding that the _expression_ "current record" is not working for me in FileMaker (Developer) 7. This breaks a lot of my scripts  :

Is anybody experiencing similar problems? Is there a workaround?

A simple example is...

tell application "FileMaker Developer"
  tell database "References"
            current record
 end tell
end tell

The error is "Object not found".

Substituting "record 1" for "current record" compiles correctly. Record 0 (which I believe should also be the current record) also gives the same error.
