Checked the name in the Activity Monitor. It is identical to the one I am calling. However, when I inspect the process it says it's parent is the Script Editor. The app in question does say it's an app when you do a get info. Could this be an issue?

Tried compiling the script as a standalone, so that the Script Editor was not running, but made no difference.

launches the app just fine, but then I get an AppleScript Error that says "System Events got an error: NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4".

What's going wrong here?

I get that error only when I try to set the process of an app that is not running; check your spelling of the process name.

Is it possible for a process name to be different from the name of the app on the disk? If so, that might be the problem.
