Well I can't tell you at all just what happened. Rejigging Matt's Script
from pages 350/351 gave me the error that it couldn't get items 8 thru -1
of u. I wasn't getting a number in the returned URL, so I typed in the
one that the OS9 G3 control panels were giving me with the / at the
beginning and end. Then I got some interesting dialogs, that Keychain
wanted some information, etc. and that i was somehow sending the wrong
password or name. Now the proper ones, URL and Password, username, are
hardcoded in the script and low and behold the connection works.

Something must have changed, but damned if I know what it was. It all
looks identical to the one which was giving all the difficulties in the
first place.
