But I doubt that it has anything to do with conversion to numbers unless somehow sorting  in ASCII/Unicode is done numerically. Note that 8 > 4 if you're feeling supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

"Tuesday" > "Monday"
--> true  (Tuesday comes right after Monday.)

"Sunday" > "Monday"
--:> false  (Sunday is a day before Monday.)
