copying files

okay, never really worked with applescript before so im a bit of a dip with it.

i want to make a script that copies all the contents of folder a, which is on my hard drive.
into another folder, which is on a USB memory card.
and for replacing existing files, i would like it to keep which ever version is the most current.

can someone help me out with how to get started doing this.
