At 11:16p -0400 02/12/2004, Bill Briggs didst inscribe upon an electronic papyrus:

Sorry, I couldn't let this one go. It was just two (sic) much.

The rewrite:

"For instance say you have _two_ chats going ...one you just sent a
message _to_ and another that you sent a message _to_ 5 minutes ago..."

Yay!

As for the iChat scripting question you wanted answered, I'd have to look at it, never having bothered to try scripting iChat (which I do use from time to time for video chats).

Yeah, really. If you want to script a chat client, use AOL Instant Messenger.
It has a hundred times the scriptability of iChat. Roughly. :)

Shameful that Apple's own chat client is so meagerly scriptable compared with the competition. But then that's nothing new, is it. ::sigh::

That said, the OS X version of AIM does not work as well as the Classic version.
Problems with 4.7:
1. Window menu does not indicate "active" IM windows.
2. 'on signon' scripts fail.

Last time I tried to submit bugs using Safari, the browser crashed.
Dunno if my bug reports made it through to AOL.
