Sorry, that paragraph should've begun:

Otherwise it's not obvious how my comment related to his.

So yeah, like Paul says, it's left to the author to decide how best to phrase their program. AppleScript has absolutely no preference [1] for one form over the other, so in each case use whichever form makes it easiest for humans to read.

[1] Actually not 100% true, as (Surprise!) I can think of one use case offhand where "of" and "'s" forms are _not_ synonymous: for no obvious reason AppleScript supports "<command> of <object>" but not "<object>'s <command>".
