When Script Menu is installed it does not appear as a Process in Activity Monitor while Fastscripts does when it is running.

Oops, you're right. My bad.

Since he's running Panther, he should be able to use UI Scripting to get the names of the menu (item?)s on the menu bar.

As to why WeatherPop's not showing up, it's hard to say without having a copy of the app to test with. The 'contains "weather"' ought to work...
