Any ideas on adjusting monitor brightness via AppleScript?

How can you use AppleScript to adjust the display brightness? The Function keys are F1 and F2. Using utilities like iKey or QuicKeys is of course one option, but I would like to do it using just AppleScript. Changing the system volume is easy (set volume 7 --etc) but how to change the display brightness?

Any ideas?
