OK, I will try but I am a novice (so be gentle)

I have OE express running and have highlighted the folder I want to export
(archive) the message from.

I then go to the finder and open up the folder where the script is located.

I then double click the script.

It presents me with a "window" that has three smaller windows (the script
editor?) The top windo looks like a "title window" and contains:

======

This script takes the folder that is selected in OE and exports the messages
and subfolders to the Finder. Each message is exported as an individual OE
Message file.

====

There are three buttons in the upper left One says run and the other says
stop.

I click the run button and it the script appears to start executing . About
a minute later the message appears :

OUTLOOK EXPRESS GOT AN ERROR OF TYPE 27728.

There is a folder which is created but is empty.

---------------------

No line numbers or lines highlighted to indicate where the error has
occured.

I hope I have answered your questions.

Ed
