Thanks, we'll give that a try. I was hoping to avoid reading defaults for
fear of them changing in the future but maybe there is no other way?

I read in MacTech that InternetConfig is scriptable under Panther but I have
no idea where to get the dictionary. While we need to support Jaguar and
Panther (and whatever the next cat is - hopefully not Mountain Lion) it
would be a good solution to use this defaults technique for Jag and a
scriptable IC thereafter.

Any insights from anyone on list about the new scripting of IC under
Panther?
