Unless I'm am wrong, it is a long time ago that AppleScript isn't localized anymore.

That is why the page at:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120128
doesn't specify any localization requirement; it just says that OS 9.1 at least is needed.

To be sure, you could just make a copy of your extensions folder, as well as of your AppleScript folder (the one with the Script Editor) before upgrading.
