I setup 5 folders on my xServe (10.3.4). Three of them are for tagging
images with AdobeRGB 1998, US Web Coated (SWOP), and for one custom ICC
profile. I did all the testing on my PBG4 (10.3.4) and just adapted the
predefined embed profile AppleScripts. It all works just fine on my pokey
little 667MHz Titanium, but I need to use the folder actions on my xServe.
All the ICC profiles reside in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles on the server,
all the names in the scrips jive with the finder names. I just can't figure
out what's going on. Nothing happens when I put an untagged RGB image into
the AdobeRGB 1998 folder. It just sits there. Same thing with the other two
"tag" folders. I have one folder for converting TIFFs to JPEGs, and a
matching one to convert JPEGs to TIFFs. Those seem to behave just fine. I
watched "top" and noticed that the process "image events" just sat there
idle. Anyone have any ideas?
Going back a month or so, I was asking about a script to move files from one
place to the other. The scripts worked just fine on my PB, but when I tried
to run them on the machine it was meant for, nothing but errors. Applescript
said it couldn't get the folder and the paths in the error window were
backwards. What I did instead was use a shell command and cron. mv
/Users/admin/Public/Proof\ HP/* to /Applications/HP.... and that works like
a charm. I set it up to run every 5th minute (5, 10, 15 etc.) I can't
remember who it was, or how many of you suggested it, but thanks!
