I have a question more about OS 10.3.4 than Applescript but it only happens
when Applescript applications are running so I will submit it here first.
The error happens in 10.3.4 server and also on the desktop version. The
machines are a mixture of G4 (mostly dual processors) and XServes all with
at least a Gig of memory. The scripts also do not contain any references
to any scripting additions (other than the apple standard additions) nor
do they use and applications other than the "Finder" and" System Events".
I hope this is enough information.
We have several machines that run Applescript applications on on a 24/7
schedule. Some (not all) of the machines will popup a dialog box stating
"Finder requires that you type your password." I'm sure it could be
avoided if I removed all "Tell app Finder" blocks from the script but some
of the things we do requires it.
Does anyone know what causes this and how it might be avoided?
Thank you,
Lincoln
