keystrokes - problem with german umlauts - any idea?

Dear Scripters,

i use the UI Scripting and have problems with the german umlauts
(characters with two points over it). The keystroke command doesn't
work with it - the result are complete different characters.
The system is a MacOS X.3.4 in german

I tried:
keystroke "1. v-oe 2. d-ae 3. |-ue"
keystroke ("1. v-oe 2. d-ae 3. |-ue" as string)
keystroke ("1. v-oe 2. d-ae 3. |-ue" as text)
keystroke ("1. v-oe 2. d-ae 3. |-ue" as Unicode text)

the result: 1. -oe 2. -ae 3. 8-ue 1. -oe 2. -ae 3. 8-ue1.
-oe 2. -ae 3. 8-ue 1. -oe 2. -

Do anybody have other ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Armin

PS - I hope you can read the german umlauts in this mail
