Solved: Can't make remote AppleEvents work

  • Subject: Solved: Can't make remote AppleEvents work

For anyone else who might run into this problem, the answer seems to be that remote machines must connect to the machine with the "server" script using a password with administrator privileges. I futzed around for three hours with various combinations of machine name and passwords and in the end logging in as administrator was the only thing that worked.

The other caveat is that if you assign a password to the "Allow users of OS 9 to connect", it doesn't work at all. (at least on the machines I tried) Again administrator privileges was the only thing that allowed me to connect from OS 9.

Hope this saves someone else some time.

Ken
